super heroes are very important to society. a super hero is a fictional character of unprecedented physical powers dedicated to doing good. i found some nice artifacts that show super heroes at theri best.

CONCLUSION :super heroes come in many shapes and sizes but deep down they are all doing the same thing, saving humanity. super heroes are very important. we need to keep them close

Outside Reading #6

I read an article on cnn.com. It was about a collision on highway 210 near the Brainerd airport. A van and a semitrailer truck collided. The truck driver was not hurt but the van driver, however, was killed. The van driver had swerved over the center line hitting the truck. The reason I read this article was  because I know people who live in Brainerd and I wanted to see if anything bad had happened that could affect them. It did not, however. This is article shows that people don't always do the smartest things and people can get in accidents just as easily when they are sober as when they are driving drunk. The article was short but I think it could teach a lot to it's readers.

Outside Reading #5

For this outside reading I read an article about Ashley Tisdale. I subscribe to Seventeen magazine and when I received this months magazine I thought it would be a good idea to blog about this. Ashley plays a very mean and self-centered teenager in the Disney Channel movies High School Musical. The article was about how in real life, Ashley is a very sweet person and "gives the best hugs". I think that this article can show that Ashley Tisdale is a good actress, and also that just because people are famous it doesn't mean that they are rude, selfish and mean to others.

Outside Reading #4

The most recent thing I read was an article about child abuse. I read this article because it was an assignment for my child psychology class. The article was about the different types of child abuse, the different predators, and different symptoms and etc. There are four types of child abuse: sexual, physical, emotional, and child neglect. Sexual is most common having men as the predators. Child neglect is most common with women predators. And emotional and physical are both men and women. Child abuse is a very big problem in our world and is continuously growing in the victims.

Outside Reading #3

I read an article on cnn.com about a 5-year-old girl who died while riding her horse. She was taking riding lessons when the horse got scared. The horse bucked her off, and dragged her for a few seconds before kicking her in the head. The girl was found unconscious and was brought to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. I feel really bad for this girl because she was so young. No one knows how the horse got scared, but that is what caused this innocent girl to die. When I read this article I was really sad.

Recent Text I Read

The most recent text I read was an article on drug abuse. My mom made me read this article because someone we knew was in it. The article was about how teens all over the country abuse prescription pills and other drugs. At first when my mom made me read it I didn't really care much for it but as I kept going, I realized that kids actually die and are seriously injured from this abuse. When I read the section about my friend, I felt really sad for her. Through reading this article, it made me not want to ever abuse drugs or alcohol.

Last Thing I Read

The last text I read was Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. This book is about a girl, Bella who moves to a new town and falls in love with a vampire, Edward. At first the two hate each other but slowly find themselves more and more attracted to one another. As Bella gets more and more involved with Edward and his vampire family, she gets into more trouble with their secret world. Bella gets blackmailed by an enemy vampire who tries to kill her, but an unexpected event happens and changes the book. This is the first book of the series and I would recommend this book to everyone.

Animal Dreams

Barbara Kingsolver writes her book "Animal Dreams" very uniquely which gives me many quotes that i like. My favorite, though, would have to be in chapter 6 when Codi says "But ask her sometime: how old would your child be now? And she'll know" (53). This is my favorite quotes because it has a lot of foreshadowing for the rest of the book. It also explains one of the major themes in this book, death. Codi loses her mother, a child, and starting to lose her father aswell.

There are many characters in this book but my favorite one is Codi. Even though she feels lost and confused, I think she's right to. She has lost her mother, a child and now her father, too. I think she is scared to get too attached to people and places because she doesn't want to lose them. Her journey through this book is making her stronger and I think by the end of the book she will be as independent as she has always wanted to be.

The most important scene in this book is in the beginning of the book when Homero talks about how Hallie and Codi are so close they are like one person. He doesn't know his girls very well but he thinks they are exactly the same. However, they couldn't be any different. Codi doesn't feel like anywhere she goes is somewhere she can stay, and Hallie feels like everywhere is home to her. Codi is always lost and confused and Hallie is living life exactly how she wants to. That is a major part in the book because it shows how different things are than what they appear to be.

Most Recent Book I Read

The most recent book I read was "Where Are The Children?" by Mary Higgins Clark. I read this book because it was on the book list for english last year. This book is about a mother who has two children who mysteriously disappear. The book is told in third person, though, so the reader knows what is happening all the while the mother is freaking out. I really liked this book because there was a lot of mystery to it. Each chapter gave you clues to lead you to how the book was going to end. "Where Are The Children?" is a great book an i would suggest this to everyone who likes a good mystery.

My Favorite Book

My favorite books are the ''Clique'' books. It's a series based on five rich girls, Massie, Dylan, Claire, Alicia, and Kristin, who live in Westchester, New York. Throughout the series, the girls get older and face new boy dramas and girl fights. I enjoy these books because the girls are my age so I can relate to them and understand what their conflicts are. I also like that these girls can do anything and aren't afraid of getting in trouble, they just want to have fun.
